The Chaoyang University of Technology in Taiwan is a relatively young university with ambitions to develop academic and technological talents, achievements, and resources. The university was founded in 1994. Currently, the university comprises of 5 colleges and 22 departments, that offer 22 master's programs and 5 doctoral programs. The number of students presently is over 17000, and the faculty and staff about 600 in total.

The Innovation Incubation Center at the Chaoyang University of Technology was established in 1999. It is located in the Central Taiwan Science Park. The main tasks of the Innovation and Incubation Center are to integrate academic research, R&D of apparatus, and human resource of the Chaoyang University of Technology, help training the industrial entrepreneur in advanced management, innovation and renewal. The Center promotes industrial-academic cooperation and makes contribution towards upgrading industries.

According to the UBI Global benchmark study, the Innovation Incubation Center Chaoyang was number two of world best university business incubators in 2015/2016.

Services of the Center are aimed at exploiting the results of university research and linking the academic sphere and business practice include the five main areas:

1. Integrating key technologies and incubation of technological entrepreneur to help the resided industrials innovate products and manage profit via diverse assistance of business management and technological research.

2. Helping the resided industrials to compete by gaining various innovative supports from external resources and promoting their competency and success.

3. Providing the soft/hard administrative and academic resources of the University to the industrials for smooth operation, including services of manpower, technology, and apparatus.

4. Assisting the industrials as a partnership; strengthening the cooperation and achieving win-win situation through the feedback-system.

5. Promoting industrial and academic cooperation and building up an academic entrepreneur environment through the involvement of R&D and industrial.

Startups are supported through a larger number of expert teams that specialize in various areas of technology and business administration.

The Innovation Incubation Center at the Chaoyang University of Technology cooperates with several national and international business centers and research institutions. It is an associated member of the EBN Innovation Network established in Brussels.

EBN is an international network of around 140 quality-certified BICs (business and innovation centres, incubators, accelerators and other support organisations) and approximately 100 associate members that support the development and growth of innovative entrepreneurs, start-ups and SMEs. EBN services cover a wide range of activities designed to help members deliver high quality support to their clients.
